Going zero waste isn't exactly as easy as one, two, three. But, I certainly want to raise that what you put on your plate not only has an impact on your own health, but also the health of the planet, and for generations to come.
My blog was driven by the ever-changing food trends forecasters and sites such as BBC Goodfood, Delish and Eater pump out yearly. More specifically and recently, the trends related to the zero waste movement - veganism and minimalism. I analysed Madeleine Olivia and Dana Shultz utilising these trends in e-cookbooks, blogs and social media through the lens of literature as a way to share and build the zero waste movement.
Through this literary perspective into food and food waste, there is a similar pattern among the texts which promote the zero waste movement. The influencers' personas are highly important to be maintained as knowledgeable in order to educate their audiences, but also friendly to maintain a constant following. They also take into account what is most aesthetically pleasing and eye-friendly to cater to their specific audiences. And, by looking at Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management through waste has taught me that waste prevention is equally as important then as it is today.
